BJP, INC & India — a messy love triangle

Failure of Bipartisanship

Whether it is the United States of America or India, a two-party political system does nothing but ruin the overall prosperity of the country. The only way to lift people out of poverty, decrease the wealth gap and foster an all-inclusive growth is by changing the entire governance infrastructure from the ground up.

Since this post is primarily for Indian readers, an analogy of a love triangle as seen in many bollywood movies, makes the fundamental issue of a bipartisan system easily comprehensible.

Think about 🇮🇳 as the beautiful, angelic girl and BJP & INC as the two immature, love-hungry, hormonal adolescents.

The girl falls in love with one of them. They get into a relationship. But it doesn’t work out for long.

The love isn’t enough or

perhaps the sacrifices made by both of them outweighs the benefits gained from the relationship or

maybe they have both evolved into adults wanting to go on separate paths.

The grown up woman still continues to be in an abusive relationship until one day…she finally gives up. And decides to move on.

She moves on to someone who seems promising.

Whose love seems more nurturing.

Now if the previous lover truly loved the girl, he would be happy for her to have found new love.

Because for either of them, the happiness of the girl is (should be) at the core of their existence.

If you truly love someone, you revel in your loved one’s happiness…even if that happiness is not directly shared.

Circling back to politics, in a bipartisanship, a lot of money flows into political parties that compete against one another. This money is being used exclusively to convince the masses on who is better. And when the masses do decide (assuming the elections are fair), the loser then does everything in its power to continue to sabotage the two lovers for the next 4–5 years so that they can get back in the picture again.

This is the sad condition of many to all democratic countries where political parties, both on the left and right, love power more than they love their country.

Ideally, the political party that is not in power should still continue to use all its resources in helping the winning political party to make better decisions for the welfare of the country. But instead, they spend all their time, energy and money in finding faults and in some cases even creating chaos so as to win back the love 💔
